Streamlight Waypoint Spotlight Black 550 Lumens

The Streamlight Waypoint in black, rated at 550 lumens. The Waypoint we stock in yellow carries the same 550 lumen rating with a stated beam distance of 625 meters, and that second number is what explains what this light is for.

Six hundred and twenty-five meters is most of a half mile, and you do not get that from output. You get it from a deep reflector that takes a modest 550 lumens and puts nearly all of it into a narrow column. It is the clearest illustration in this whole category that lumens and reach are different things: a light like this will out-range a handheld rated at ten times the output.

Colorado restricts using artificial light to take or harass wildlife. Finding your way, checking stock or working around a vehicle is a different matter — for anything else, check current CPW regulations.
