About Elk River Sports
A real shop in Steamboat.
Elk River Sports is the outdoor side of our shop in Steamboat Springs. Glass, layers, lights, packs, calls and camp gear, for people who hunt and hike up here, and the people who come to visit.
What we sell
Gear we’d take ourselves. Binoculars and spotting scopes, jackets and boots, headlamps, packs, calls, decoys and camp gear. If we wouldn’t carry it into the timber, we don’t want to sell it to you.
We don’t sell firearms or ammunition here.
How it ships
Straight answer: most of what you see here ships from our suppliers’ warehouses, straight to you. That’s how we can carry four thousand items without a warehouse the size of the valley. Every order is tracked.
Some of it is on the shelf at the shop, too. If you want to see something in person, call first and we’ll tell you whether it’s here.
Coming to town?
Ship it to where you’re staying: rental, hotel, a buddy’s place. Check with your place before you order. And order early, because delivery times vary by item.
Orders of $500 or more can ship free to the shop instead. We call when it’s in and hold it 10 days. Bring a photo ID. Good for heavy stuff.
We write it down
Season dates, the regs people get wrong, and unit guides for the country around Steamboat, built from Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s own numbers. When we can’t verify something, we say so.
The fine print
Thirty days to return it. No restocking fee on unused gear in the box. Opened or used, up to 15%. You cover return shipping. The whole policy.
